ProcessI began the process of creating my piece by sketching out a blue print of how the piece was going to look. I gathered the materials I needed and began creating the base first.
The base that I created was going to hold the glasses. I created a circle out of wire and rapped chicken wire on around hit to separate the glasses when tying them to it and for support of them. After creating the base of my piece I began by creating a net over the base of the glasses. Creating a net over the base of the glasses would give the glasses stabilization and security. The net over the glasses was made with nylon to keep the allusion of floating glasses. The next thing I did to my piece was attach the nylon to each cup and arrange where I was going to hang each piece to the base on to the chicken wire. The arrangement of the glasses was extremely important because it would be the main focus of the piece. The final thing that was done to my project was the photographing of it. I wanted my final piece to be based on the same concept as. There use of lighting and shadows made me incorporate it to my piece. I had to light my piece from underneath as well and cast heavy shadows above to make the glasses the main focus. |

Through out the process of making this piece I had more lows than highs. The base that holds my piece was the hardest thing to make. The base was made of chicken wire and it was extremely hard to manipulate it into a circle.
Creating the base of the base of the cup was the most challenging part of creating this piece. I had to tie fish wire round the base of the cup to give it stabilization and make the cup go straight down. I wrapped the fish wire around the stem of the cup then brought up the pieces of wire across the base to give it support. I failed multiple times doing this until I decided to get the glue gun and glue the fish fire on to the base of the glasses.
Success on my piece was on the organization of the glasses and the editing of the final piece. Using chicken wire for the base of my piece was a big help when organizing the glasses. The spaces between the chicken wire made it easy for my to hang the glasses according to how the chicken wire was set up. Editing my final piece was a big success because I was able to cast the deep shadows on top and the focus of light from underneath. I was able to incorporate a tint of blue to give it a cool vide that I was going for.
Overall Im really happy on how my piece came out. Despite all of the failures that happened when creating it taught me a lot about my self and ways I can improve myself.
